About The Position

The Department of Pediatrics, Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is actively seeking candidates for a full-time non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or full Professor in Pediatric Infectious Diseases. Successful candidates will have a proven history of excellent clinical skills and strong desire to be involved with resident/student teaching. Research opportunities and collaboration are available, and prior involvement in clinical research is desirable, with provision of QI support through mentorship.

Requirements

  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school/university.
  • Board Certified in Pediatrics.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatric Infectious Diseases.
  • Must have or be eligible for a State of Georgia medical license, federal DEA and PALS certified.
  • Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate training.
  • Associate Professor- Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
  • Professor- Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Educational responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing mentorship, clinical supervision, and consultation to residents/medical students/staff at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) at Augusta University (AU) and Children's Hospital of Georgia (CHOG).
  • Develop a more in-depth educational experience in pediatric infectious diseases for trainees at different levels of academic education.
  • Provide training to residents/medical students/staff at AU/CHOG in pediatric infectious diseases through didactics.
  • Provide clinical care for the pediatric patient population in the outpatient, inpatient and telemedicine setting.
  • Clinical care would include but is not limited to the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of disorders, including care of patients with HIV and other infectious diseases processes.
  • Consultations from the inpatient/outpatient setting as well as the emergency department.
  • Patient/family education.
  • Share weekday, weekend, and holiday emergent/after-hours call coverage.
