About The Position

The Department of Engineering and Technology at Southern Utah University (SUU) invites applications for a faculty position within the Electrical Engineering program at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor. This is a full-time faculty position to begin in Fall 2026 and is open to candidates with either (a) a Master's degree (for a non-tenure-track appointment) or (b) a Ph.D. (for a tenure-track appointment) in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field at one of the ranks listed above. The position will be at the SUU campus in Cedar City, Utah. The successful candidate must have a strong commitment and ability to teach at the undergraduate level. This position includes benefits that may include relocation expenses to hired candidates for on-site employment. Although Southern Utah University is primarily a teaching institution, the tenure-track faculty have an expectation to engage collaboratively with students and/or peers on scholarly activity that results in peer-reviewed publications. No such expectation exists for non-tenure-track faculty. Faculty actively participate and collaborate with the department to enhance and maintain a robust curriculum based on continual program evaluation from internal review, industry advisory board feedback, student feedback, and accreditation review input. All faculty must complete service activities within the department, college, and/or university. Position is contingent on funding. Due to recent changes in H1B visa fees, Southern Utah University is no longer able to sponsor international faculty and staff that require an H1B visa and are currently living outside of the United States.
