About The Position

The physician in the clinical track is responsible for providing direct inpatient and outpatient care to Hepatology patients at UHealth Locations and Jackson Memorial Hospital [8 half days]. He/she will provide outpatient clinical and endoscopic services, as well as rounding/teaching on inpatients at UHealth Towers, and Jackson Memorial Hospital. Preferred physician who has experience as a Transplant Hepatologist. Physician will do weekly, holiday, and weekend call proportionate to other Hepatology providers.

Requirements

• MD Degree and ACGME US internal medicine internship and residency.
• Completed 3-year ACGME US gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship.
• Provide case logs for core and non-core endoscopic procedures (2 years), including motility studies.
• Valid American Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology (or board eligible).
• Valid unrestricted Florida Medical License or eligible to apply (must have license prior to credentialing).
• Valid DEA licensure.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of US ACGME 3-year gastroenterology fellowship.
• Completion of transplant hepatology training.
• Must maintain CME to meet institutional and state licensing requirements.
• Must have excellent clinical knowledge and experience to provide safe and quality care to patients and meet institutional standards of care.
• Current ACLS and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain outpatient clinical practice at Uhealth locations, UHealth Towers, and/or Satellite locations.
• Reading of Fibroscans.
• Rotate on night and weekend call proportionate to other faculty.
• Rotate proportionate to other faculty on Hepatology inpatient and JMH teaching services.
