The Department of Health Systems, Management and Policy in the Colorado School of Public Health invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position as endowed Associate Professor or Professor with a focus on child health policy. We seek candidates with deep expertise in health policy, health services research, and/or health economics who will advance scientific knowledge about the health systems, healthcare delivery models and public health policies that advance children’s health and wellbeing. Relevant areas of expertise include health system organization and delivery science; value‑based healthcare; implementation science; healthcare data science and AI; Medicaid and health insurance coverage; decision analysis and economic evaluation; political and public policy dynamics; informing or guiding policy processes and outcomes at local, state, and federal levels; and the integration of health and social services to address social determinants of health. The successful candidate will develop and grow productive partnerships with relevant clinical, scientific, educational, and policy organizations related to children’s health on campus, in the state, nationally and/or internationally. The candidate will leverage these relationships to lead rigorous, externally funded research that contributes to the department’s mission to advance systems and policies that improve the quality of life and wellbeing of children and their families. Incumbent will teach, advise, and mentor students in one or more of the department's graduate degree programs. Applicants should have exceptional methodological skills relevant to public health and/or public policy and health services research, a strong record of scholarly publications, success in obtaining extramural research funding, and experience in translating research evidence to support clinical, policy and administrative decision-making. Applicants also should have deep experience in graduate-level teaching and student advising, with an ability to foster supportive learning environments for students. The Department of Health Systems, Management and Policy supports a multidisciplinary group of research-intensive faculty members and offers graduate education through M.P.H, and Ph.D. programs in health policy and health services research. Faculty enjoy rich opportunities for collaboration with numerous academic and clinical units affiliated with the $7 billion state of the art Anschutz Medical Campus, including the CU School of Medicine, CU College of Nursing, and other health professions schools, the UCHealth system, an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center, Children’s Hospital Colorado, and the VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System. Beyond campus, faculty collaborate with innovative healthcare systems and government agencies regionally and nationally, utilizing a robust data environment that includes a campus-wide clinical data warehouse, regional electronic health data networks, a statewide all-payor claims database, and a federal research data center.
