About The Position

The Graph Database/Ontology Lead at Thermo Fisher Scientific is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of graph database systems. This role combines technical expertise in graph databases with leadership skills to guide a team and align database solutions with innovative technologies such as AI and machine learning to meet business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a related role.
  • Demonstrable experience in graph database technologies such as Neo4j, Amazon Neptune, etc.
  • Extensive experience in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning/Large Language Models applications using Graph DB.
  • Solid grasp of graph theory and algorithms.
  • Proficiency in query languages like Cypher, Gremlin, SPARQL.
  • Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure management.
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements related to data governance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for graph database technology within the organization.
  • Design and develop scalable graph database solutions tailored to the organization's needs.
  • Architect the integration of graph databases with existing systems and data architectures.
  • Be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of graph database systems.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and availability within the graph database environment.
  • Optimize database performance and solve issues.
  • Lead and mentor a team of developers, cultivating a collaborative and innovative team culture.
  • Work closely with data scientists, data engineers, and business analysts to understand data requirements.
  • Liaise with customers to capture requirements and provide updates on database initiatives.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures.
