About The Position

The Graph Database/Ontology Lead at Thermo Fisher Scientific is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of graph database systems. This role combines technical expertise in graph databases with leadership skills to guide a team and align database solutions with innovative technologies such as AI, ML, and LLM to achieve business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a related role.
  • Demonstrable experience in graph database technologies such as Neo4j, Amazon Neptune, etc.
  • Extensive experience in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning/Large Language Models applications using Graph DB.
  • Solid grasp of graph theory and algorithms.
  • Proficiency in query languages like Cypher, Gremlin, SPARQL.
  • Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for graph database technology within the organization.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in graph database technologies.
  • Propose innovative solutions to improve data management and analytics capabilities.
  • Design and develop scalable graph database solutions tailored to the organization's needs.
  • Architect the integration of graph databases with existing systems and data architectures.
  • Develop ontologies and graph data models.
  • Be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of graph database systems.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and availability within the graph database environment.
  • Optimize database performance and solve issues.
  • Build and handle graph databases for diverse use cases, from enterprise scale databases used for analytics to databases serving a single microservice.
  • Lead and mentor a team of developers.
  • Cultivate a collaborative and innovative team culture.
  • Work closely with data scientists, data engineers, and business analysts to understand data requirements.
  • Liaise with customers to capture requirements and provide updates on database initiatives.
  • Communicate technical concepts to non-technical customers effectively.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance policies and regulatory requirements.
