Requirements

  • High School or Equivalent
  • Ability to understand general industry practices
  • Should be able to exercise decision making and independent judgment.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment.
  • Must be able to meet all physical requirements of position (standing, bending over, squatting, etc.)
  • Computer program knowledge required (Microsoft Word & Excel).

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of EPA, DOT and OSHA regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Training of other employees for all of the processes included in the by-product management of the customer waste streams and recycling capacities.
  • Must possess the knowledge of all of the basic functions of sorting and processing, to operating powered industrial equipment and large mechanical equipment.
  • Requires direct supervision of shift employees.
  • Provide support to the Shift Supervisor including paper and computer work, supervision, and training.
  • Responsible for providing coverage of the Shift Supervisor in the event of their absence (sickness, vacation, meetings).
  • Perform the sorting and processing of all wastes and by-products in a fast paced manufacturing facility environment safely, and in accordance with Company, Federal, State and local regulations/rules.
  • Utilize motorized trucks and fork trucks with attachments and other handling equipment to process and move material from the processing area to trailers and roll offs, and other containers within the processing area.
  • Safely operate equipment to process materials including hand tools, balers, and compactors.
  • Properly sort materials based on pre-established guidelines for additional processing.
  • Perform cleanup and housekeeping duties as directed.
  • Participate and train others in spill response duties as assigned by customer contract.
  • Utilize knowledge of applicable EPA, DOT and OSHA regulations, as well as the companies’ policies and regulations.
