The position involves conducting various quality control activities and assisting with the application and monitoring of established inspection procedures and methods. The individual will inspect and evaluate received and installed equipment and materials to ensure the highest level of quality for final products. Responsibilities include rejecting items that do not meet specifications and/or EAS established quality standards, and being familiar with various types of testing equipment and how to interpret results. The role encompasses QA responsibilities such as reviewing and understanding job specifications for quality-related scopes, job drawings (flow diagrams, boundaries, etc.), and job submittals. Additionally, the individual will implement a QC Plan for specific projects and perform receiving inspections of material and equipment. They will verify component verification of major equipment per approved submittal and witness EAS welding quality assurance procedures, ensuring current weld documentation is maintained. The position also involves overseeing the installation of all mechanical scopes, including sub-contract work, and verifying that all mechanical testing, flushing, and cleaning is executed per contract documents. When applicable, commissioning responsibilities include witnessing Factory Acceptance Testing on required mechanical equipment, coordinating pipe flushing, cleaning, and disinfecting (sometimes with a 3rd party vendor), and coordinating mechanical start-up activities with supplying vendors and/or qualified technicians. The individual will also coordinate commissioning activities with the 3rd party Cx group, EAS support, client, and other sub-contractors.
