About The Position

In this role, you will report to the site services supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science. Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1+ years in customer service, inventory replenishment, or material handling required
  • Able to lift 50lbs required
  • Capable of standing for extended periods
  • Maintain a professional, safe, and clean work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with both internal and external teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Highly organized, dependable, and able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft Teams experience preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in a laboratory environment or familiarity with lab processes and procedures preferred

Responsibilities

  • Verifying item accuracy, quantity, and documentation, and overall condition before stocking for incoming materials
  • Sorting of materials and delivering to designated areas, dock inventory/organization
  • ​Will be handling a wide range of chemicals
  • Daily fulfillment of chemical orders from customer, manage production chemical orders
  • Accurately record and communicate information to internal and external teams
  • Understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures
  • Use inventory management system(s); SAP, etc.
  • Facilitate orders for consumable lab inventory replenishment.
  • Manage customers’ point of use or stockroom inventory.
  • Responsible for logistical activities such as shipping and receiving of materials through coordination with 3rd party couriers.
  • May handle and manage chemicals, including hazardous materials.
  • Basic order entry and follow-up on existing backorders.
  • Perform Safety-focused Operations: Documenting/reporting observations, executing basic safety scope
  • Perform other duties as assigned
