About The Position

Global Impact Group is a leading provider of high-quality interpreting and translation services nationwide. Our mission is to bridge communication gaps and deliver accurate, culturally competent language services across healthcare, government, legal, education, and community sectors. We are seeking qualified Onsite Multilingual Interpreters throughout the City of Chicago to provide in-person interpretation services. The ideal candidate will be fluent in English and at least one of the high-demand languages (e.g., Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, Arabic, Burmese, Korean, Somali, and others), and will have professional interpreting experience in medical, legal, educational, or community environments.

Requirements

Fluency in English and at least one other spoken language.
Minimum of 1 year of professional onsite interpreting experience preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Punctuality, reliability, and professionalism are essential.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Background check and TB test may be required based on the assignment.

Nice To Haves

Medical, legal, or community interpreting certification (CCHI, NBCMI, or court certification) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide accurate, confidential, and impartial interpretation between limited-English-proficient individuals and English speakers.
Interpret consecutively and/or simultaneously as required in diverse settings.
Adhere to professional ethics, including client confidentiality and impartiality.
Support clients with cultural competence and sensitivity.
Accurately complete daily logs, timesheets, and activity reports as needed.
