About The Position

The Fleet Dispatcher at AAA The Auto Club Group is responsible for managing emergency roadside assistance calls, ensuring efficient dispatching of service personnel, and providing excellent customer service. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The dispatcher will also handle payment processing, maintain service vehicle records, and assist in resolving customer issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Ability to accurately navigate through computer systems and input information using a standard keyboard.
  • Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, and percentages.
  • Prior experience managing and resolving customer issues.
  • Ability to prepare written communications in response to customer inquiries.
  • Basic understanding of geography and ability to provide directions.
  • Effective communication skills over the phone and in-person, with strong listening skills.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of policies and procedures related to emergency road service.
  • Experience reading and comprehending customer care service tools such as manuals and work models.
  • Past experience dispatching calls.
  • Experience in a call center environment.

Responsibilities

  • Dispatch calls for emergency roadside assistance to members and club fleet personnel via radio, telephone, or electronically.
  • Receive and manage calls related to emergency and commercial road service using a computer-aided call processing system.
  • Perform geographical location spotting and map reading to provide detailed instructions to service personnel.
  • Monitor dispatched calls and take action to resolve service issues or potential problems.
  • Handle driver and customer escalations according to established procedures.
  • Provide explanations to customers and document service issues.
  • Close service requests using the company electronic dispatching system.
  • Accept payment from members and customers when necessary.
  • Reconcile and resolve basic payment issues and maintain related records.
  • Maintain inventory of tow truck/service vehicle supplies and vehicle maintenance records.
  • Assist coworkers and less-tenured dispatchers as necessary.

  • Hourly rate starting between $16.85 - $18.50 based on experience.
  • Overtime earning potential at time and a half the hourly wage.
  • Shift premiums: 5% for hours worked between 5pm and 11pm and 10% for hours worked between 11pm and 5am.
