About The Position

The Onsite Boathouse Attendant supports the daily operations of the Boathouse area and community amenities at Biltmore Lake. This position assists residents and guests, supports community events, and programs, and helps ensure amenities are clean, safe, and welcoming.

Requirements

  • Customer service or facilities/amenities experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to perform light physical tasks (standing, walking, lifting event supplies)
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Requirements to be considered for employment include 16 years of age and older
  • Clear background check and drug test
  • Ability to work independently without supervision
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds of weight
  • Able to work outdoors in all-weather environments
  • Demonstrates strong customer service skills and the ability to speak confidently to others
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or reach frequently.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally heavier with assistance.
  • Manual dexterity to operate tools, equipment, and machinery safely.
  • Visual acuity to inspect equipment, read gauges, and perform detailed tasks.
  • Hearing ability to detect alarms, equipment sounds, and verbal instructions in noisy environments.
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise, outdoors).
  • Ability to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, on-call, and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

  • Check-out/in boat vessels (kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, john boats) along with paddles and life jackets
  • Confirm that the person using the equipment is a resident or invited guest of the resident
  • Answer questions about the check-out/in process for residents
  • Upkeep of the boathouse bathrooms, boathouse staging area, boats, paddles, and life jackets
  • Rake sand around boathouse and beach (if time allows) to check for fishing hooks
  • Check the fire pit for wood
  • Empty garbage cans around the playground, beach, and firepit, and replace liners as needed
  • Pick up loose trash around the firepit, playground, and other common areas near the boathouse
  • Complete bathroom checklist and daily time sheet checklist
