About The Position
The Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk, working as an In-Store Grocery Shopper, plays a crucial role in ensuring that customers' online orders are selected and gathered efficiently, with a strong emphasis on maintaining the freshness and quality of products. This position involves assembling customers' online orders, processing coupons and payments, and delivering and loading orders into customers' cars upon their arrival at the store for pick-up. The role is designed to provide a positive customer service experience that encourages customers to return to online shopping. The clerk is expected to demonstrate the company's core values, which include respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. As part of the e-Commerce team, the Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk is responsible for initiating and completing the selection process for customers' online orders. This includes scanning and bagging orders while adhering to bagging standards, communicating any substitutions or exceptions to customers at the time of pick-up, and ensuring that all items chosen meet quality and freshness standards. The clerk must also follow local, state, and federal laws, food safety procedures, and company guidelines to maintain compliance and ensure customer satisfaction. The position requires the ability to work independently without supervision, read shelf tags, and possess basic math skills for counting, addition, and subtraction. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with customers and team members. Previous experience as a personal shopper, in a production-oriented or warehouse environment, or as a cashier is desired but not mandatory. The Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk must also maintain organization and cleanliness in staging areas and equipment, report any discrepancies, and assist in training new team members. Overall, this role is vital in meeting and exceeding customer expectations for ease of shopping, variety, freshness, and cleanliness.
