About The Position

The Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk, working as an In-Store Grocery Shopper, is responsible for selecting and gathering products for customers' online orders in the most efficient manner with attention to freshness and quality. This role involves assembling customers' online orders, processing coupons and payments, and delivering and loading orders into customers' cars upon their arrival at the store for pick-up. The position requires providing a positive customer service experience that encourages customers to return to online shopping. The clerk must demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Requirements

  • Ability to work without supervision.
  • Ability to read shelf tags.
  • Basic math skills (i.e., counting, addition, and subtraction).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Select and gather products for customers' online orders efficiently while ensuring freshness and quality.
  • Initiate and complete the selection process for customers' online orders.
  • Assemble customers' online orders, process coupons and payments, and deliver and load orders to cars.
  • Scan and bag orders on the go while following all bagging standards.
  • Communicate any substitutions or exceptions to customers' orders at the time of pick-up.
  • Meet or exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, variety, freshness, and cleanliness.
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal laws, food safety procedures, and company guidelines.
  • Receive customers' orders from Order Selector and store products in optimal temperature zones.
  • Ensure quality and freshness of all items chosen.
  • Communicate with customers via a portable phone and respond to calls professionally and timely.
  • Retrieve each customer's order from all staging locations and ensure order accuracy.
  • Process orders through the point of sale (POS) system.
  • Follow policies and procedures for appropriate substitutions in case of out-of-stock items.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of staging areas and equipment.
  • Report discrepancies in pricing, scanning, and item location to the store e-Commerce supervisor.
  • Inspect equipment and notify management of items needing repair.
  • Perform required opening and closing procedures.
  • Assist in training new e-Commerce team members.
  • Meet or exceed productivity standards.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
