The Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk, working as an In-Store Grocery Shopper, plays a crucial role in ensuring that customers' online orders are selected and gathered efficiently, with a strong emphasis on maintaining the freshness and quality of products. This position involves assembling customers' online orders, processing coupons and payments, and delivering and loading orders into customers' cars upon their arrival at the store for pick-up. The role requires a commitment to providing a positive customer service experience that encourages customers to return for future online shopping. The Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk is expected to embody the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety in all interactions. As part of a larger team, the Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk will initiate and complete the selection process for customers' online orders, ensuring that all items are chosen with care. This includes scanning and bagging orders while adhering to established bagging standards. The e-Commerce team, including the Online Grocery Pick-Up associates, is responsible for communicating any substitutions or exceptions to customers' orders at the time of pick-up. The position also involves meeting or exceeding customer expectations regarding ease of shopping, product variety, freshness, and cleanliness. In addition to the selection and assembly of orders, the Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk must adhere to local, state, and federal laws, as well as food safety procedures and company guidelines. This includes receiving orders from the Order Selector, storing products in optimal temperature zones, and ensuring the quality and freshness of all items chosen. Effective communication with customers via a portable phone is essential, as is the ability to respond to calls in a professional and timely manner. The role also requires maintaining organization and cleanliness in staging areas and equipment, reporting any discrepancies in pricing, scanning, or item locations to the store e-Commerce supervisor, and inspecting equipment for repairs as needed. The Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk will also assist in training new e-Commerce team members and must be able to meet or exceed productivity standards while performing essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
