About The Position

The Online Chair is a full-time, 12-month contracted administrative faculty position responsible for maintaining the integrity of online programs at Liberty University. This role ensures that program delivery aligns with the university's mission and vision while overseeing operational excellence in faculty recruitment, program administration, and student success.

Requirements

• Teaching experience in higher education, with experience in both residential and online modalities.
• Understanding of technologies associated with higher education delivery.
• Experience with curricular development and planning.
• Passion for student and faculty development and mentorship.
• Academic and research experience in a related field.

Nice To Haves

• Ph.D. or terminal degree in a specific area of study or related field.
• History of outstanding teaching and student mentorship.
• Experience in administration.
• Interest in emerging educational technologies.

Responsibilities

• Review, assess, and maintain the integrity of online courses and curriculum delivery.
• Develop curriculum and monitor End of Course Evaluations (EOCs) and grade distribution.
• Communicate hiring needs and assist in the hiring process for new online faculty.
• Qualify new online faculty and coordinate training with Instructional Mentors.
• Lead and mentor a team of online faculty, addressing administrative concerns and coordinating faculty management.
• Supervise online faculty and ensure contract fulfillment.
• Analyze course and faculty performance to ensure alignment with curriculum and student experience.
• Conduct faculty assessments and evaluations based on departmental and University guidelines.
• Review and resolve student complaints and academic dishonesty reviews.
• Assist with planning the annual budget for relevant areas of oversight.
