About The Position

Bryant & Stratton College is seeking a Part-Time instructor to teach Psychology courses. This position is remote and involves facilitating an active virtual learning classroom through alternative delivery methodologies. Instructors will maintain contemporary knowledge and skills in their discipline to support their expected classroom responsibilities and participate in departmental and campus-wide activities to support the needs of the student population and Online Education team.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Psychology.
• Online teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare course(s) assigned in Blackboard with required elements by designated deadline.
• Prepare Beginning of Term documents for each assigned course ensuring accuracy and quality each session and upload to course in Blackboard per established due dates.
• Review course(s) assigned in Blackboard prior to each session start to verify content aligns with Introductory Documents and meets Course Preparation Checklist.
• Provide approximately 12-15 hours per week of instruction over the course of five days each week, per course.
• Facilitate discussion ensuring a minimum of posting replies at least three days in each week's discussion.
• Demonstrate the ability to apply Chickering's Seven Principles for Good Practice in Undergraduate Education.
• Host one Virtual Office Hour per week for every assigned course section.
• Ensure gradebook is updated each week and provide detailed, individualized feedback.
• Utilize Blackboard's Retention Center to monitor and contact all at-risk students each week.
• Maintain a current knowledge of teaching disciplines/fields of study and best practices in distance education.
• Participate in all live and asynchronous faculty meetings.
• Maintain a current teaching portfolio per the required categories of B&SC.
