About The Position

Discovery Learning Center (DLC) at Parc Center for Disabilities On-site | Full-Time | Non-Exempt Make a Difference Where It Matters Most At Parc Center for Disabilities, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and experience life to the fullest. Our Discovery Learning Center is a warm, inclusive preschool serving children ages 2 months to 5 years, including children with diverse abilities. We are currently seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated One-Year-Old Classroom Teacher who is passionate about early childhood education and inclusion. What You’ll Do As a Teacher in our One-Year-Old Classroom, you will help nurture each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development through engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences. Our classrooms are staffed based on children’s needs, not just minimum ratios, allowing you to focus on quality care, strong relationships, and meaningful instruction.

Requirements

  • CDA (Child Development Associate) or formal early childhood education
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with young children
  • Experience supporting children with disabilities in an educational or childcare setting
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role (standing, lifting up to 50 lbs., active supervision)

Responsibilities

  • Creating a welcoming, inclusive classroom environment where every child feels safe, supported, and valued
  • Planning and leading engaging lessons using the Creative Curriculum, including music, art, sensory play, and hands-on learning
  • Supporting children with diverse needs using positive behavior support strategies
  • Tracking developmental progress using Teaching Strategies Gold
  • Building strong partnerships with families through open communication and conferences
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and records to support individualized learning
  • Collaborating with fellow teachers, therapists, and leadership as part of a mission-driven team
  • Following Pinellas County Childcare Licensing Standards and all safety requirements
