Responsibilities As a One-to-One Instructional Aide, your primary role is to provide individualized support to students with emotional disabilities and/or autism. Key responsibilities include: Supporting Instruction: Assist with lesson plans under the guidance of the Special Education teacher, adjusting strategies to meet the student's needs Promoting Engagement: Help create a positive, engaging, and self-motivating classroom environment that encourages social interaction Tracking Progress: Monitor and maintain records to support students' IEPs, ensuring accurate documentation Collaboration: Work closely with the teaching team, clinicians, and administrators to support students' academic and emotional progress Qualifications Bachelor's degree (preferably in education, psychology, counseling, or a related field) Fluency in Ukrainian (required) Illinois State Certification, Type 39 (or willingness to obtain within 90 days) Experience working with students with Emotional Disabilities and/or Autism (preferred) Strong commitment to empowering students and families Flexibility and a passion for innovative approaches to education Mental and Physical Demands Mental: Ability to plan and implement lesson plans for students with emotional challenges, manage behaviors, and develop clear, accurate reports Physical: Ability to lift at least 20 pounds and occasionally move light items. Must be able to supervise students inside and outside the classroom Ready to Make a Difference?
