One on One Afterschool Aide - South Orange County
About The Position
The YMCA of Orange County is looking for passionate individuals in the Mission Viejo, Laguna Niguel & San Juan Capistrano area to assist students one-on-one in an afterschool setting typically from 2p to 6p with occasional extended hours. You will be working as an Inclusion Facilitator who will support the Y Inclusion program in facilitating the inclusion of children (ages toddler through 12 years old) with developmental disabilities who are moderate to severe in Childcare programs. Full-time positions are also available at some locations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 12 college units with 6 units in Child Development, Psychology, Sociology, Education or related required.
Nice To Haves
- 1-year experience working with special needs/developmentally disabled population preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one inclusion support to children with moderate to severe needs/developmental disabilities at childcare site.
- Implement and follow the recommended inclusion plan and follow protocols.
- Collect and record required data on children on a daily basis.
- Recommend changes to the Inclusion Plan if needed.
- Continually provide on-site inclusion and support to children and adolescents.
- Follow and enforce safety standards and other policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
