About The Position

The One Call Specialist position at Lumen is an entry-level role designed to introduce individuals to the Telecommunications industry. This role involves training and practical experience to prepare candidates for customer-focused technical support positions. Successful candidates will undergo a 5-week intensive training program, after which they will be evaluated and placed into roles where they will apply their training and learn key aspects of providing exceptional customer support.

Requirements

  • Ability to work 24/7/365 flexible hours as needed.
  • Demonstrated job experience in a similar industry via Telecom, Military, or Business with similar essential duties.
  • Customer Service or Project Management experience.

  • Knowledge of IRTHNet or other Ticket Management Systems, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook), Ops Console, Map books, GIS Applications, and State One Call Center's websites.
  • 2+ years of military experience in a technical or support specialty.
  • Associate degree in Networking, Business, or related field.
  • Certification (e.g. A+).

Responsibilities

  • Screen One Call Center Locate Ticket requests to analyze the location of the dig site using a software application in relation to the company's underground fiber optics network.
  • Ensure the protection of company fiber and prevent costly restoration due to fiber cuts or damage by ensuring that the dig site is clear.
  • Cover various shifts, holidays, or work overtime as needed, as the working environment operates 24x7 year-round.
