Cancer Care is seeking a full-time Oncology Social Worker to provide essential support services to individuals affected by cancer. This hybrid position will require the employee to work both in-office and remotely, with three days in the office and two days working from home. The salary for this position ranges from $65,344 to $66,344 annually. The Oncology Social Worker will be responsible for delivering free services, including resource navigation, individual counseling, support groups, educational workshops, and financial assistance to cancer patients, caregivers, and those who are bereaved. The role is crucial in ensuring that clients receive the necessary support during their challenging times. The Oncology Social Worker will provide immediate assistance by responding to inquiries through Cancer Care's national toll-free Hopeline. They will conduct individual counseling sessions, which may take place in-person, via Zoom, or over the telephone. Additionally, the social worker will facilitate support groups through various platforms, including in-person meetings, Zoom, telephone, and message boards. A significant part of the role involves conducting psychosocial assessments and evaluations to address client needs effectively. The social worker will utilize their knowledge of community resources to refer clients to appropriate services, ensuring continuity and quality of care. Documentation of all social work activities must be completed in a timely manner, adhering to departmental protocols. The Oncology Social Worker will also participate in local presentations, workshops, health fairs, fundraising events, and community outreach activities, both in-person and virtually. Upholding the Cancer Care brand and philosophy is essential in this role, as the social worker represents the organization in various capacities.
