About The Position

Come join our Patient Access team at Saint Mary's Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Of New England! Position Purpose The oncology scheduler coordinates and schedules all oncology appointments for established patients such as, laboratory, chemotherapy infusion, blood products, Physician/APP, injections, nutrition, chemotherapy education, genetics, symptom management and survivorship appointments; as well as coordinating radiology studies, internal/external referral appointments as requested by providers, nurses, and other patient care team members. Scheduler must be able to greet and interact with patients, staff and public with a courteous attitude What you will do Greet patients, answer phones, schedule patients Assist clinicians with pre-certifications/referrals, faxes and chart preparation Ensure the provider's schedules are timely and accurate Obtain accurate, timely registration and insurance information Provide clerical support to physicians, clinicians, mid-level providers and staff Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent College coursework in the secretarial or medical sciences preferred Minimum of one year experience working in a physician’s office required, preferably in a similar capacity Familiarity with medical terminology required Ability to communicate well and listen effectively. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year experience working in a physician’s office required, preferably in a similar capacity
  • Familiarity with medical terminology required
  • Ability to communicate well and listen effectively

Nice To Haves

  • College coursework in the secretarial or medical sciences preferred
  • Bilingual is preferred
