Definition of Position: Oncology Pharmacist will facilitate the delivery of safe, effective, and pharmacoeconomically rational medications to hematology/oncology patients. They will provide education, develop and implement guidelines, policies, and medication regimens, provide appropriate interventions, and be involved in professional development and performance improvement initiatives. They will be responsible for supervising and directing support personnel in addition to the safe and proper distribution and use of medications in hematology/oncology patients. In the absence of pharmacy management, the Oncology Pharmacist may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC).
