About The Position

The position serves as a single point of contact for referring physicians, patients, and caregivers, providing resources and assistance with accessing clinical and supportive care services offered by EvergreenHealth and in the community. The role involves facilitating patient appointments, including labs, diagnostic areas, and specialty physicians, to ensure all patients receive quality and comprehensive services. The individual will function on a multidisciplinary team as an advocate, educator, and counselor for Oncology patients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Nursing (BSN) required within 5 years of employment if applicable
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington
  • 3 years of clinical Oncology experience
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree
  • OCN or ONS certification
  • Chemotherapy certification
  • RN with Oncology Pharmaceutical experience

Responsibilities

  • Serves as an essential link between Oncology patients and all other care providers.
  • Assists patients in understanding their diagnosis, treatment options, and the resources available.
  • Educates eligible patients about appropriate supportive care resources, research studies and technologies available to this unique patient population.
  • Follows patients throughout the care continuum, including inpatient admissions, and collaborates with inpatient, outpatient and community care management resources.
  • Responsible for the outreach efforts to establish and maintain positive working relationships with key customers (physicians, office staff, diagnostic staff, nurses, radiology staff, social services staff, and radiation oncology staff, etc.).
