About The Position

This position is responsible for providing education and support to screening and cancer patients. Responsibilities include addressing healthcare disparities and barriers to care for patients; including facilitation of communication across the continuum of care, coordination of resources, education and advocacy, and coordination of care with managing physicians and the interdisciplinary team. May participate in some aspects of clinical care. This position exists in various departments throughout Cancer Services across the OhioHealth system of hospitals and healthcare services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (Required)
• RN - Registered Nurse - Ohio Board of Nursing
• Bachelor of Science ( BSN) in Nursing from a four-year college or university
• Current licensure to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio.
• Clinical knowledge of oncology.
• 3 - 5 years clinical Experience in Oncology.

Responsibilities

• Assesses learning needs, provides education, assesses learning achieved, and provides support and navigation to cancer patients and families.
• Participates in quality control and assurance.
• Participates in process improvement activities .
• May participate in some aspects of clinical care as needed.
• Other duties may vary by department such as various program coordination and maintaining registries.
