About The Position

Cancer Specialists of North Florida is recruiting for an experienced Oncology Licensed Practical Nurse for our busy Specialty Practice. The Oncology LPN is responsible for the following under the direct supervision of RNs and physicians: Providing safe, efficient, and compassionate nursing care to patients receiving various infusion therapies and injections. Communicate regularly with the multidisciplinary team. Coordinate patient care and assist in patient flow. Functions within the Florida scope of practice and follows clinic policies, nursing standards, and state regulations. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: Access, maintain, and deaccess peripheral IVs and vascular access devices (ports) Administer infusion-related therapies within LPN scope — such as IV fluids, electrolyte replacements, IV iron, and injection Assess and monitor patient status: vital signs, symptoms, side effects, and reactions throughout the infusion process; report changes to RN/physician Assist with patient education, treatment scheduling, and other administrative duties such as FMLA paperwork. Complete tasks in EMR system in a timely manner Input prescriptions and make other patient calls as directed by RNs and physician Ensure equipment and supplies are clean, stocked, and functioning properly Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, expectations, side effect management, and after-care instructions Maintains patient confidentiality All other duties as assigned Full-time Position, Monday – Friday Location Address: 7015 AC Skinner Parkway, Building 100, Jacksonville, FL 32256

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited program for practical nursing education
  • 1 year experience as a practicing LPN, oncology experience preferred
  • Phlebotomy and peripheral IV experience
  • Current State of Florida LPN license
  • IV Therapy Certification required - state approved certification program
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate
