About The Position

Must hold a Dental Radiographer Certificate The dental assistant is proficient at assisting in the examination and treatment of dental oncology patients under the direction of the dentist. Responsible for assisting the dentist in the examination of patients including obtaining dental imaging, conducts patient interviews, measures vital signs (i.e. pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records patient information accurately and appropriately in EMR and/or patient‘s charts. Estimated pay range for this position is $22.53 - $29.29 / hour depending on experience.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, Certificate of Attendance, Certificate of Completion, GED, or experience required.
  • Basic Life Support.
  • Expanded Functions Dental Assistant.
  • Dental Radiographer Certification.
  • Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant program as recognized by the American Dental Associations Commission on Accreditation.
  • Must hold a current Dental Radiographer certificate and graduated with Expanded Dental Function.
  • Must be a professional, organized, detail-oriented team player with effective interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Possesses a compassionate demeanor, excellent customer service skills and high ethical standards.
  • HIPAA/OSHA compliance required.
  • Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment efficiently.
  • Proficient in computer applications and typing skills.
  • Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
  • Minimum Required Experience: 3 Years

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in oncologic dentistry and oral prosthodontistry strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulatory guidelines and medical terminology a plus.
