About The Position

The Oncology Data Specialist performs case finding, abstracts case information, performs follow-up procedures, and data entry. They assist in compiling registry data for the State and the National Cancer Data Bases and following registry standards set by the State, SEER (Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results Program), and the American College of Surgeons and AJCC (American Joint Committee on Cancer).

Requirements

• Two years experience in computer software programs: Word, Excel, and Internet access and use.
• Associates degree or equivalent (60 college level credits).
• One year of experience in a Cancer Registry.

Nice To Haves

• BS/BA degree in health sciences or related field.
• Formal training in decision support, databases, spreadsheet, report writer, query/relational database computer software applications.
• Experience with Microsoft Access and Power Point.
• One year experience with CNExT.
