Assists the administrative and/or physician director, the program directors, and other professional staff in planning, organizing, coordinating, and maintaining Cancer Center programs. Performs highly specialized work in cancer data abstraction, case finding, reporting and management. This role requires advanced clinical knowledge of oncology pathology, staging, treatment and national/state reporting standards (NAPBC, State registries). The data produced directly impacts accreditation, quality initiatives, research and clinical decision-making. Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the work activities of clerical personnel within the Cancer Center. Participates in quality assessment and continuous quality improvement activities. Ensures compliance with all appropriate Safety and Infection Control Standards. Performs all job duties and responsibilities in a courteous and customer-focused manner according to the Hurley Family Standards of Behavior and Management Code of Conduct. Works under the general supervision of the administrative and/or physician director or designee who reviews work for conformance with established procedures and standards. Exercises working supervision over clerical employees within the Cancer Center office and ambulatory oncology.
