About The Position

Summary of Position: The Oncology Consultant Pharmacist helps optimize the electronic health record to create and support clinical workflows and chemotherapy ordering. This position collaborates with physicians and nurses in reviewing chemotherapy care plans to promote accuracy, safety and desirable patient outcomes. The Oncology Consultant Pharmacist does not participate in patient care activities.

Requirements

• Pharm.D. required
• Previous clinical oncology/infusion pharmacy experience required
• Computer literacy in common office applications
• Knowledge of electronic medical record (EMR) database or equivalent preferred; Epic experience preferred
• Board Certification in Oncology (BCOP) required.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of PGY 1 and/or PGY2 residency or equivalent experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides consistently exceptional care at all times.
• Reviews care plans for accuracy and safety. Evaluates proposed medications for efficacy, therapeutic goals and indications.
• Participates in oncology disease related groups to support development of treatment guidelines, protocols, and formulary updates.
• Assists with the development of evidence-based treatment plans.
• Responds to the needs of the department by performing other duties, as necessary.
