This position is responsible for providing Medical Record Review, Chart Abstraction and Quality Control processes/review, capacity planning and resource management for Ontada’s Health Informatics and HEOR businesses. The Oncology Clinical Data Quality Lead will be proactively participating and reviewing the chart abstraction activities including the data collection requirements process and chart reviews performed by the chart review vendor resources. The Oncology Clinical Data Quality Lead will partner closely with the Data Quality Manager, Outcomes Researchers, Biostatisticians, Research Database Specialist, Clinical Data Analysts and Operations Manager within the Health Informatics/HEOR business.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • RN license required
  • Must have 4-year degree in Healthcare, Life Science, or Nursing
  • 4+ years of experience in community oncology with several years of chart review experience
  • Must have several years of experience working in a community/clinical oncology setting alongside physicians and oncologists with ability to communicate complex patient chart information (ie. disease and/or tumor progression)
  • In-depth understanding, competency and knowledge of oncology diseases and processes and clinical research
  • Detail oriented & possesses technical expertise (e.g., Open Clinica, EHR data, EPIC, Cerner etc.)
  • Ability to interact with, and present to, senior level researchers, physicians, external clients, and internal/external leadership team members and share expertise and knowledge
  • Superb interpersonal skills and collaborative management style.
  • Excellent people and project management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Strong understanding of clinical oncology and EHR / patient records
  • Clinical trial experience or data capture experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Data Quality Management Provide guidance and answer questions from the data abstractors
  • Ensure EHR data is clinically relevant in the extraction tool (Open Clinica)
  • Understand and review SAP/Protocol with Outcomes Researcher
  • Test and review data capture tool with Clinical Database Specialist
  • Quality review and assurance of chart abstraction for the various studies
  • Review and respond to QC queries to ensure data is accurate
  • Actively perform and help coordinate chart review activities throughout the study cycle
  • Operational Development Provides insight and suggestions to improve Data Quality Control Process
  • Define complexity of chart reviews during proposal stage
  • Define and execute towards chart review abstraction completion dates
  • Be accountable for the client deliverable due dates
  • Understand the financial impacts of timeline delays
  • Develop strong business relationships with Physician Investigators, Outcomes Researchers, Biostatisticians, Clinical Database Specialist
  • Training and/or on boarding of Chart Reviewers on data extraction for studies
