About The Position

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) seeks an Oncology Advanced Practice Provider genuinely interested in oncology and benign hematology along with a patient centered approach to inpatient care provided at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. This position will partner with the Inpatient Oncology Hospitalist in a team-based model, Monday-Friday and rotate weekend coverage. Would also support the Boise Saint Alphonsus Cancer Institute clinic based upon availability. In collaboration with the hospitalist or one of the other physicians covering the oncology service, the well-qualified candidate will provide high-level independent services to hospital oncology patients. Clinical responsibilities include rounding on all follow up patients on the oncology unit, providing initial review of the chart and communicating with the physician the information needed to develop a comprehensive consultation, and obtain informed consent for new patients, documentation and preparing discharge orders, chemotherapy education visits, perform bone marrow biopsies inpatient and in the outpatient clinic at SARMC as available, triage for oncology patients that come into the emergency department or direct admits from the outpatient Cancer Institute locations including managing the intake process. Compliance with standards of care and practice is required in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the medical treatment facility and request timely consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.

Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner medical license in Idaho and Oregon; valid controlled substance registration with Idaho; Board of Pharmacy and DEA (and eventual registration with Oregon).
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP): Successful completion of NP Graduate Program (Masters Level preferred) and either AANP or ANCC certification.
  • Physician Assistant (PA): Successful completion of PA Graduate Program (Masters Level preferred) and NCCPA certification (PA-C).
  • strong medical background and a desire to develop a practice to support a growing multi-specialty medical group.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous advance practice provider experience in oncology or internal medicine preferred
