About The Position

The Onboarding Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the orientation and onboarding of new hires within the organization. This role involves supervising Onboarding Coordinators, evaluating training effectiveness, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards. The Onboarding Supervisor spends a significant amount of time on the production floor, directly engaging with new hires and coordinating their training efforts. This position plays a crucial role in achieving human resources and facility objectives, while also developing action plans to enhance employee retention.

Requirements

  • Supervisory experience in onboarding or training roles.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to present ideas and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Experience working in a plant or industrial environment.
  • Ability to work in varying temperature conditions and stand for long periods.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams.
  • Previous training experience preferred.
  • Strong attendance record and good standing within the company.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Knowledge of safety and quality standards in food production.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, track, and evaluate all New Hire Orientation and Onboarding training in accordance with compliance standards.
  • Supervise new hires during the training period and make recommendations regarding training needs and continued employment.
  • Coach Onboarding Coordinators to conduct structured on-the-job training for new and current employees.
  • Motivate, coach, correct, and challenge Onboarding Coordinators, Orientation Trainers, and new hires positively.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding employee and company information.
  • Ensure proper methods are followed for production and safety, adapting training plans as necessary.
  • Maintain an engaged and team-oriented Onboarding Team, leading by example.
  • Communicate issues or concerns with Production Supervisors and Plant Management as needed.
  • Ensure Onboarding Coordinators are training according to job skills assessments and SOPs.
  • Answer questions requiring comprehensive knowledge of departmental procedures and human resources programs.
  • Manage the Onboarding Team schedule and assess staffing needs, providing leadership through goal setting and communication.
  • Drive Team Member retention by implementing company values and monitoring new hires' performance during their initial employment period.
  • Support new Team Members by maintaining a presence on the production floor and assessing their skills development.
  • Attend regular management and human resources meetings.
  • Create, maintain, and verify evaluation criteria for new hires, regularly evaluating Team Members for certification or re-certification.
  • Record, document, maintain, and analyze training progression files to compile reports for management.
