About The Position

The onboarding coordinator will be responsible for the introduction of new employees to our product, production processes, and quality expectations. The coordinator will also provide hands on training to employees utilizing the DOJO (Training cell) as well as job instructions and standardized work methods. Beyond the onboarding responsibilities, the onboarding coordinator will develop and hold additional training classes to strengthen the quality awareness and product knowledge for current employees of the company. The ideal candidate should be trained and knowledgeable on all lines and processes within the business unit and has an outgoing personality to welcome new employees to the team while getting them ready for the job in front of them.

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of Magna seniority in Assembly preferred.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. as needed.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must maintain proper vision requirements
  • Must be able to maintain alertness to their surroundings.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a teaching or training preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the Shopfloor onboarding Process:
  • Product: Train and explain different products/customers of the Business Unit
  • Train and explain components of a Mirror for all customers
  • Verify effectiveness of training
  • Process: Train and explain core assembly processes in DOJO
  • Train and explain core inspection processes in DOJO
  • Train and explain core packaging processes in DOJO
  • Train and explain start-up and shut-down procedures
  • Train and explain hourly/daily production goals
  • Verify effectiveness of training
  • Quality: Train and explain zebra process
  • Train and explain main quality aspects of different products
  • Train and explain current TOP issues internally and externally
  • Verify effectiveness of training
  • Develop and perform additional training class in cooperation with the Quality and Operations department for continuous training and development of existing employees of the company.
  • Stay updated on current top issues from cross functional departments in order to integrate topics into onboarding process.
  • Walk the lines to stay updated on current assembly issues.
  • Maintain training materials and document the training hours spend per employee.
  • Ensure team training records are complete and documents are submitted to HR.
  • Understands safety policies and practices that apply to assigned area and can locate the Hazcom labels, MSDS files or contacts.
  • Verifies safe work practices are followed
  • Monitors and maintains 5S in workplace
  • Understand your responsibility to the environmental programs, including ISO14001.
  • Understand the importance of conformance with all environmental procedures of the environmental management system, including emergency response.
  • Understand the EMS consequences, actual or potential, of their work activities and/or their behaviors from specified work instructions.
  • Other job duties as assigned (including, but not limited to gaging parts, part rework, cycle counting, continuous improvement projects, etc.).
  • Understands and follows existing Magna policies, procedures, work instructions and standards and makes recommendations for continuous improvements.
