About The Position

The position involves responding to customer inquiries, providing quotes, and taking customer orders through various channels including telephone, fax, email, and in-person at the counter. The role requires maintaining appropriate inventory levels for Consignment customers and sourcing products from branch inventory, Distribution Center inventory, or supplier inventory. The employee will influence Motion Industries’ Gross Profit by negotiating sale and purchase prices within set parameters, and will proactively generate sales by promoting products to existing customers. Additional responsibilities include expediting backorders, mentoring lower-level employees, acting as a subject matter expert on multiple products, and potentially serving as a backup for the Operations Manager. The employee may also pull inventory for shipment, handle customer returns, and place orders without approval for certain amounts. The role requires minimizing branch freight costs and interacting with customers and suppliers to ensure satisfaction and correct order fulfillment. Regular attendance at training sessions for professional growth is also expected.

Responsibilities

  • Locates products as necessary.
  • Negotiates sale and purchase prices to influence Gross Profit.
  • Promotes Motion Industries’ products to existing customers.
  • Expedites backorders.
  • Acts as mentor/lead to lower level employees.
  • Serves as subject matter expert on multiple products.
  • Acts as back-up for Operations Manager.
  • Pulls inventory and prepares orders for shipment.
  • Handles customer returns.
  • Places orders without approval for specified amounts.
  • Adjusts non-contract customer pricing based on competition.
  • Minimizes Branch freight costs.
  • Interacts with customers to fulfill orders correctly.
  • Interacts with suppliers to obtain pricing.
  • Partners with Account Representatives for customer satisfaction.
  • Assists customers by troubleshooting via telephone or email.
  • Attends training sessions for professional growth.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
