About The Position

The OnSite Specialist at Stryker is responsible for managing and caring for surgical equipment within the Sterile Processing Department (SPD). This role involves ensuring that surgical instruments are clean, sterile, and functioning properly, allowing healthcare staff to focus on patient care. The position requires adherence to industry standards and safety protocols while working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • GED or High School diploma required.
  • Ability to exert up to 50lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 20lbs of force to constantly move objects.
  • Ability to remain standing and/or walking for an extended period of time.
  • Adhere to HIPAA and other related patient confidentiality policies and procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to use independent judgment and critical thinking effectively.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential.

Nice To Haves

  • SPD experience highly preferred.
  • HSPA certification ideal.
  • Experience preferred Bachelor's Degree, Associate's Degree or applicable medical certifications.
  • Operating Room experience and demonstrated knowledge of anatomy, surgical procedures and techniques preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and care for customer's equipment within the Sterile Processing Department (SPD).
  • Perform cleaning, maintenance, and assembly of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment.
  • Ensure that surgeon's equipment is clean, sterile, functioning properly, and ready for the next case.
  • Adhere to all industry and facility-specific standards and safety protocols.
  • Understand the unique challenges faced by caregivers to ensure hospital staff can focus on patient care.
  • Work rotating shifts with a team as required by the medical facility.
