About The Position

Baystate Interpreters is on the lookout for dedicated and professional on-site interpreters in Massachusetts to join our team as 1099 independent contractors. Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must reside in Massachusetts and be willing to travel within a 30-mile radius for assignments.
• Proficiency in English and at least one additional language.
• Strong communication skills and a composed demeanor in challenging situations.
• Flexibility and reliability to meet the demands of per diem assignments.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills for accurate interpretation.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and confidentiality regulations.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a 60-hour Medical Interpreter Training Course from a well-regarded institution.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate on-site interpretation between English and designated target languages.
