About The Position

The On-Demand Paratransit Operator Trainee plays a crucial role in providing safe and reliable transportation services to individuals with disabilities or mobility challenges. Requirements

  • Valid driver's license for at least three (3) years.
  • Not more than one (1) moving violation within the last three (3) years.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • Pass written portion of CDL B permit with passenger endorsement by second week of training.
  • Ability to pass motor vehicle and criminal background check, drug test, and physical.
  • The required skills for this position include strong communication abilities, which are essential for interacting with passengers and understanding their needs.
  • Attention to detail is crucial for maintaining accurate trip records and ensuring vehicle safety.
  • Time management skills will be utilized daily to navigate routes efficiently and respond to on-demand requests promptly.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in training sessions to learn the operation of paratransit vehicles and safety protocols.
  • Assist passengers with disabilities in boarding and disembarking from vehicles, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Learn to navigate designated routes and respond to on-demand transportation requests efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of trips, including passenger information and vehicle inspections.
  • Collaborate with dispatchers and other team members to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
