Havenwood is recruiting for a hospitality‑focused Registered Nurse to join our team as an On‑Call Triage Nurse, with a rate of pay of $40/hour plus stipend. The On‑Call Triage RN serves as the nurse in charge during their shift, providing clinical guidance and support to Quality Life Specialists (QLS), CNAs, CMAs, and Medication Technicians. Responsibilities include: Receiving and triaging phone calls from non‑licensed staff in Assisted Living communities. Using the nursing process to assess needs, prioritize care, and initiate appropriate interventions. Offering clear, professional, and tactful instructions to on‑site staff. Supporting individualized care plans and collaborating with the care coordination team. Documenting and communicating with the Director of Health Services, community nurses, and Executive Directors.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Licensed RN in the state of employment.
  • Minimum 2 years of healthcare experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must be in good physical health and free of communicable diseases.
  • Successful completion of drug testing and criminal background check upon hire and as requested.

Nice To Haves

  • Assisted Living experience preferred.
  • Dementia care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in and supervises the delivery of personal care to residents.
  • Implements and collects data related to residents’ health status.
  • Maintains a professional, respectful demeanor with residents, families, associates, and external providers.
  • Uses tactful, diplomatic communication in sensitive or emotionally charged situations.
  • Reports suspected or witnessed verbal, mental, or physical abuse and takes appropriate action.
  • Transcribes physician orders, reviews MARs for accuracy, and notifies pharmacy of changes.
  • Responds to emergencies promptly and calmly.
  • Reports significant changes in condition to physicians and responsible parties; documents findings and coordinates follow‑through with community nursing staff.
  • Documents and reports incidents in accordance with state regulations.
  • Demonstrates appreciation for the heritage, values, and wisdom of residents and an understanding of the aging process.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
