About The Position

The On-Call SUD Counselor at HealthRIGHT 360 is a part-time position focused on providing compassionate care to women with severe substance use disorders. This role involves working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective treatment outcomes while supervising clients and their children in a residential setting. The counselor will utilize trauma-informed care and crisis intervention techniques to support clients during their recovery journey.

Requirements

• Registration or certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor from an approved/accredited California agency.
• Preferably a minimum of two years' experience in the human service field with expertise in substance abuse treatment, relapse prevention, and recovery.
• Experience working with clients experiencing acute withdrawal from substances.
• Knowledge of and experience with providing trauma-informed services.
• Experience delivering evidence-based practices.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in crisis intervention and client stabilization.
• Demonstrated ability to stay calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Assists clients with intake, assessment, and orientation to the program upon admission.
• Utilizes trauma-informed care while applying crisis intervention and motivational interviewing.
• Completes facility rounds regularly to maintain supervision of clients and the facility.
• Seeks clinical consultation when encountering new or high-risk clinical circumstances.
• Provides facility coverage by supervising clients during chores, visiting hours, meal times, medication line, detox, donations, groups, and free time.
• Monitors visiting hours and addresses safety concerns.
• Works collaboratively with other members of the treatment team and communicates any behavioral concerns to the client's Case Manager, Clinical Therapist, Medical, and Psychiatrist.
• Maintains frequent communication with the treatment team and engages in regular clinical consults.
