About The Position

The On-Call Residential Specialist (RS) at Plymouth Housing Group plays a crucial role in supporting residents within the Permanent Supportive Housing team. This position is dedicated to maintaining high-quality service delivery aligned with Plymouth's mission, emphasizing cultural proficiency, harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and the 'housing first' philosophy. The RS is responsible for ensuring the well-being of residents, providing assistance in the office lobby, and maintaining a safe and clean environment while fostering a sense of community.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certificate or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Previous customer service experience, particularly with low-income households or individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Outlook.

  • Experience with diverse, low-income, homeless, or special needs populations.
  • Previous employment in social services, supportive housing, or mental health.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all functions in the front lobby office, including checking and logging visitors, answering telephones, and monitoring security systems.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide effective support and resources to residents.
  • Conduct ongoing outreach to residents and provide necessary resources.
  • Welcome new residents into a safe environment and foster supportive services.
  • Assist tenants with unit services, including re-entry into individual units.
  • Mediates conflict using de-escalation and conflict mediation techniques.
  • Distribute notices and relevant materials to residents, accommodating language and cultural differences.
  • Support offsite property management by communicating with tenants and assisting with work orders.
  • Provide guidance and oversight for volunteers and interns as directed by the Residential Services Manager.
  • Maintain building security and safety by monitoring access and following emergency procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and promote a positive environment for residents and staff.
  • Perform light janitorial and maintenance tasks in all areas of the facility.
  • Assist with general administrative support as needed, including maintaining logs and documentation.
