Join our team and discover why we are a top veteran employer and Certified Great Place to Work™ ASRC Federal System Solutions (AFSS) is seeking an on-call Project Planning and Control (PP&C) Specialist to provide expert-level support on a NASA contract located in Greenbelt, MD and Washington, D.C. This on-call position supports all PP&C functions including cost estimating and analysis, schedule analysis and management, risk management and analysis, and budget/resources management. The role advises on project budgets and schedules, identifies and assesses risks, and supports independent review preparation and execution. Functions performed include developing PP&C training materials and delivering PP&C training, participating on Standing Review Boards (SRB), and conducting program/project independent review and analysis. The individual works closely with program/project teams, SRB chairs, NASA/Goddard management and other stakeholders to ensure effective coordination, analysis, documentation, and communication on a wide spectrum of PP&C analysis and implementation activities.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of and experience with NASA project lifecycles
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with Project Planning and Control (PP&C) in all project lifecycle phases
  • Strong understanding of activities involved in building and testing space flight hardware
  • Strong understanding of NASA policies and procedures, especially those related to management of space flight hardware developments
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of technical and project management staff
  • Proven ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet varying deadlines and competing priorities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Must meet government NAC and citizenship/permanent residency requirements for access to NASA GSFC; an extensive background investigation is required
  • Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of related experience.
