About The Position

ON-CALL MOBILE CRISIS CLINICIAN EMERGENCY SERVICES PART TIME- NON EXEMPT Thrive Behavioral Health, the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic for Kent County, has been delivering mental health and substance use services since 1976. Thrive Behavioral Health understands the benefits of delivering high quality, low-cost care for Rhode Islanders. Thrive’s unique programs and services are built on evidence based, person-centric care models. Our programs include: Adult Mental Health, Youth and Family, Substance Use, Housing, Teen and Young Adult, Court Ordered, and Crisis Behavioral Health. With more than a dozen locations across Rhode Island and more than 300 employees, Thrive is continuing to grow and meet the needs of the community. General Summary: Work collaboratively with local police departments and community partners to provide emergency assessments and community based supports, referrals and linkages, for individuals in the community experiencing behavioral health crisis. Must be available nights, overnights, and weekends. Minimum two 8-hour shifts per week.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in mental health counseling, clinical psychology, social work or other Human Services related field required. License preferred.
  • Minimum of one-year experience in the human service field working with adults, children, adolescents, and families to provide assessment, triage, and crisis intervention for mental health and substance abuse, including certification for hospitalization.
  • Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) certification required.
  • Valid driver's license and automobile insurance which meets Rhode Island minimum standards required, or the ability to obtain necessary transportation in order to perform the responsibilities/tasks of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with local police departments, BH Link, and other community agencies, to complete risk assessments and safety plans for individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis in the community.
  • Coordinate referrals to longer term service providers and provide social support resource information to community members in crisis.
  • Complete emergency certifications when necessary.
  • Provide documentation of services consistent with Thrive, State, and Federal regulations.
  • Carry and enliven a positive Thrive image consistent with the Thrive’s Guiding Principles and professional code of ethics.
