We are currently seeking On-Call Line Cooks to join our team. Position Overview As an On-Call Line Cook, you will play an important role in supporting our catering and culinary operations by preparing, cooking, and organizing food for a variety of events and service needs. This is an on-call position based on business volume, with schedules typically shared 1 week in advance, though occasional short-notice opportunities may arise. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, takes pride in producing high-quality food, and can work with both urgency and attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen or catering environment
  • Strong cooking fundamentals and ability to follow recipes with consistency
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to jump in where needed
  • Flexibility to work shifts based on event and business demands

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes, ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation
  • Scale recipes and production levels appropriately based on event size and business needs
  • Follow prep lists carefully and complete assigned tasks with accuracy and efficiency
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment at all times
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department standards
  • Cool, pack, and label food properly for off-site and catered events
  • Organize event product so that all food is packed accurately and placed in the correct designated location
  • Review event menus and check products against production needs to ensure complete and accurate packing
  • Assist with inventory awareness by monitoring ingredient usage and communicating low-stock items to management
  • Identify opportunities to use available product efficiently and minimize waste
  • Work collaboratively with the culinary team and communicate clearly to ensure every item meets Dartcor standards
