About The Position

Shall provide janitorial services to 7 AVCP buildings, the Joe Lomack, Tugkar, Family Service Center, and Head Start. Jobs include general cleaning of offices, restrooms, and common areas in both locations.

Requirements

• Must be able to read, write and comprehend verbal and written instructions in English.
• Must be able to perform the essential duties listed above satisfactorily and work independently without close supervision.
• Must be able to lift and carry for short distances up to seventy (70) pounds and physically perform the functions of the job.
• Trustworthiness is required.
• A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
• One or more years of experience as a janitor or similar job is required.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the AVCP policies and procedures referenced and included in the Employee Handbook.
• Perform general janitorial services including cleaning/vacuuming office spaces and common areas; emptying trash; cleaning and sanitizing restrooms; mopping floors and stairways.
• Empty trash into the dumpster next to the building at Joe Lomack Building/Tugkar, FSC, Head Start.
• For building security, secure all internal doors upon completion of cleaning operations and check that the exterior doors are closed and locked before departure. Ensure that office windows are closed and locked.
• Maintain an inventory of all cleaning and paper supplies and personal protective equipment, such as nitrile gloves, and notify your supervisor in advance when additional supplies need to be ordered to maintain adequate supplies on hand.
• Responsible for maintaining the security of the building keys.
• Responsible to know how to properly use cleaning chemicals and wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working with chemicals, such as restroom sanitizers, disinfectants, floor cleaners and other cleaning chemicals, as well as when handling trash.
• Responsible for the correct use of equipment such as vacuum cleaners and carpet shampoo machines.
