About The Position

Lead an OLLI course for a given quarter.

Requirements

• Demonstrated knowledge of class topic
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially with older adults
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement
• Ability to work with a hearing-impaired demographic
• Relevant professional experience.
• Record of successful teaching engagements
• This position requires the ability to effectively establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within a diverse multicultural environment.

Responsibilities

• Course Instruction
• Prepare, in advance, all course content and materials
• Determine the method, details and delivery of the course
• Be solely responsible for the content taught in the course
• Provide relevant instructional media and equipment (e.g., hardware and software)
• Ensure students have consistent breaks for courses over 2 hours in length
• Manage class time to ensure entire syllabus content is covered
• Work with OLLI hosts for classroom protocol announcements
• Maintains contact with community and solicits feedback for improved services.
• Maximizes productivity through use of appropriate tools; planned training and performance initiatives.
