About The Position

The On-Call Infant Teacher at Yolo Crisis Nursery is responsible for providing nurturing and trauma-informed care to infants and preschool children in a licensed daycare facility. This part-time position involves curriculum planning, implementing educational programs, and ensuring the safety and well-being of children during overnight shifts. The role requires collaboration with families and treatment teams to support each child's individual education and care plan.

Requirements

• Experience working with children ages 0-5 years old required.
• First Aid/CPR Certification required.
• Must pass DOJ, FBI, and CAIC background clearance.
• Valid California Driver's license with two years' experience and a clean driving record required.
• Education Option A: 12 units in Early Childhood Education and 6 months of experience in a licensed childcare facility.
• Education Option B: Child Development Associate Credential and 6 months of experience in a licensed childcare facility.
• Education Option C: Child Development Teacher Permit (or higher).
• Education Option D: AA degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with specific coursework.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in crisis management and behavioral techniques.
• Knowledge of educational screening tools such as ASQ and DRDP.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and overnight care for infants ages 0-2 and preschool youth ages 2-5 years old.
• Perform curriculum planning and implement instructional programs based on individual academic levels and needs.
• Conduct bedtime and morning care routines, including bathing, dressing, and feeding children.
• Stay awake and alert overnight to ensure children's safety.
• Perform laundry, light cleaning, and reset rooms for the day shift.
• Provide crisis management as needed and apply positive behavioral techniques.
• Create a positive learning environment for children and families.
• Collaborate with families and treatment teams to carry out individual education and care plans.
• Complete educational screenings and reporting for students.
