The On-Call Household Coach will work in the Adult 24/7 Inpatient Crisis Residential Unit, providing essential support in a 16-bed facility for adults aged 18-59. This role involves preparing therapeutic diets, maintaining cleanliness in food storage areas, and ensuring safety regulations are followed.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to follow menus and cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
  • Find appropriate alternatives for clients who have reported allergies, special diets, limitations, and/or are refusing foods.
  • Ensure meals are served at correct times and temperatures.
  • Prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus.
  • Ensure that safety regulations and precautions are followed at all times by all personnel and clients.
  • Assist in maintaining food storage areas in a clean and sanitary manner.
  • Maintain logs assigned to household coach, such as restroom cleaning log, food temperature logs, appliance temperature logs, and other logs as assigned.
  • Maintain and submit a daily checklist to be reviewed by direct supervisor.
  • Clean and disinfect kitchen and dining area according to current infection control practices.
  • Empty waste receptacles; clean solid waste containers.
  • Move and arrange furniture as needed for cleaning or presentation purposes.
  • Conduct and assist both large and small activity groups.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience preparing therapeutic diets preferred.
  • 6 months housekeeping experience in a hospital, hotel, motel or similar work environment.
