About The Position

To facilitate the ELL department's interpretation and translation. Provide interpretation and document translation services district wide.

Requirements

• Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to the completion of a high school diploma.
• To be fully bilingual, bi-literate, and bi-cultural in cross cultural communication skills.
• Excellent computer and organizational skills.
• Possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical attributes necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
• Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate or acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Acts as on-site language interpreter to facilitate communication with students and families.
• Provides interpretation for parent meetings, conferences, and during the enrollment process.
• Assists school personnel with home visits as needed for support with translation and interpretation.
• Translates documents as needed.
• Maintains computer records related to interpretation and document translation.
• Adheres to good safety practices.
• Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this position.
• Complies with all district rules, regulations, and policies.
• Other duties as required or assigned.
